The Rare Impact Fund, a nonprofit founded by Selena Gomez, aims to raise $100 million to broaden access to mental health education and services for youth globally. Rare Beauty contributes 1% of all sales to this fund, which also obtains support from foundations, corporate partners, donors, and the public.

Position Summary

The Manager of Social Impact plays a pivotal role in managing Rare Impact's operations and initiatives. This person collaborates across departments including PR, Product, HR, Creative, Social, and Community to embed social impact into significant brand activities and campaigns. They oversee daily partnerships with over 30 nonprofit organizations and facilitate fundraising and awareness efforts, providing comprehensive integration of the Rare Impact Fund’s mission into Rare Beauty’s storytelling and community outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee impact programs such as the Rare Impact College Ambassador Program and mentorship opportunities.
  • Help design and implement programs, campaigns, partnerships, and community actions that align with Rare Beauty’s social goals.
  • Work cross-functionally to incorporate social impact narratives in product launches, cultural events, employee engagement, and brand communications.
  • Contribute to the creation and publication of the yearly social impact report.
  • Assist in the brand's response to key social issues as required.
  • Maintain consistent communication and relationship management with Rare Impact Fund nonprofit partners including check-ins and reporting support.
  • Serve as a communication bridge among nonprofit organizations, advisors, and external partners to foster engagement.
  • Coordinate outreach with the Rare Beauty Mental Health Council, nonprofit leaders, and community stakeholders.
  • Support planning and execution of social impact events such as community activations, workshops, partner gatherings, and annual mental health summits.
  • Manage event logistics including vendors, schedules, product orders, shipment coordination, guest communication, and onsite support.
  • Prepare event documents, briefing notes, and coordination workflows.
  • Assist with the Annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit event.
  • Collaborate on monthly mental health content featuring nonprofit partners, and help develop campaign messaging and resources.
  • Partner internally to ensure social impact content is culturally sensitive, mission-aligned, and well-integrated across platforms.
  • Engage with internal teams (Rare Impact Fund, Brand, Social, PR, Influencer, Creative) to align and deliver Rare Impact initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-department strategic meetings and oversee workflows, approval processes, and project timelines.
  • Manage product donation requests and tracking in partnership with internal teams.
  • Administer the Rare Impact inbox, fielding inquiries from partners and community members.
  • Draft written materials including correspondence, presentations, and reports for internal and external use.
  • Maintain project management tools like trackers, agendas, timelines, shared drives, and documentation.
  • Organize leadership meetings, speaking engagements, and external events for key spokespersons.
  • Identify ways to enhance operational efficiency across the team.
  • Provide scheduling and logistical support to the Chief Impact Officer.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in social impact, nonprofit collaborations, corporate social responsibility, communications, brand marketing, or related mission-driven work.
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities to handle multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills adaptable for diverse audiences, including community partners and executives.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate successfully across various teams and external organizations.
  • Strong relationship management skills with detailed attention, critical thinking, and thorough follow-up.
  • Experienced in supporting partnerships, stakeholders, campaigns, events, and community-oriented initiatives within brand or nonprofit settings.
  • Capacity to work strategically and operationally in dynamic environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and presentation software.
  • Genuine passion for mental health advocacy, storytelling, and driving social impact.
  • Experience working with high-profile talent is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This role involves extended periods of desk work and computer use.
