This position offers a unique chance to contribute to a newly formed statutory body dedicated to upholding the integrity of pharmacy business ownership in Queensland. This role plays a crucial part in founding a contemporary regulating authority to ensure professional, safe, and competent pharmacy services across Queensland.
About the Organization
The Council, established by legislation, functions as a statutory entity managing a modern licensing system overseeing more than 1,300 pharmacy businesses. Its mandate is to guarantee professional and competent pharmacy service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team responsible for handling a high volume of pharmacy business licence applications, ensuring adherence to legislative standards, policies, and procedures.
- Efficiently evaluate complex licence applications promptly and in alignment with Council’s regulations and legislative demands.
- Advise the Director and make delegated legislative decisions as necessary.
- Generate precise, understandable, and regulation-compliant documentation to facilitate decision-making and application processing.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven background in a regulatory and licensing setting with experience making intricate decisions in complex environments.
- Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement, capable of producing high-quality written reports, recommendations, and advice.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams, oversee resources, processes, and systems, with an emphasis on business improvement, flexibility, and high performance.
- A relevant professional qualification such as in law, business, or management is desirable but not mandatory.
