Job description
Role overview
This position is for an experienced Licenses & Permit Manager in Real Estate, responsible for coordinating license and permit activities across Amazon’s India network. The role is based in Mumbai and involves regular travel across India. It reports to the Manager Licenses & Permits in Gurugram.
The main purpose of the job is to ensure that all permissions needed for business-as-usual operations are secured and renewed on time. This includes partnering with the local management team to identify requirements and supporting compliance for both existing sites and newly opened facilities, in line with company policy.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with the India team to secure and renew building-related licenses and permits for warehouses and other facilities.
- Arrange all mandatory approvals needed to keep current operations running and to launch new business locations.
- Track regulatory compliance across the company’s operating regions and help address any gaps or breaches.
- Work closely with Legal, Launch, Facility, and WHS teams to obtain approvals for new facilities.
- Partner with the facilities and procurement teams to renew existing licenses and prepare vendor MSAs.
Required qualifications
Applicants should bring substantial experience in industrial maintenance, CMMS tools, and Microsoft Office applications, along with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent Amazon experience. The role also requires the ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred background
A master’s degree or Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred. Additional value is given to candidates with experience in MHE integration, maintenance of material handling systems, project management, and statistical analysis.
