Job Overview

The Manager of HR Operations and Employee Relations is tasked with overseeing the company's employee relations and corrective action processes, while also managing core HR operational areas such as Payroll, Compensation, HRIS, and Compliance. This position collaborates closely with leaders to handle employee relations issues, workplace investigations, and ensure policies and laws are consistently applied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full corrective action process, coaching managers on addressing performance issues, documentation, and ensuring consistent follow-through.
  • Serve as the primary point for Employee Relations issues, including investigations and policy violations.
  • Conduct timely and impartial investigations with thorough documentation to support defensible conclusions.
  • Advise managers on employee behavior, performance concerns, risk management, and appropriate corrective steps.
  • Create and deliver training materials to enhance corrective action procedures and record-keeping.
  • Ensure uniform policy enforcement across the organization.
  • Analyze trends in corrective actions and employee relations matters, suggesting proactive improvements.
  • Oversee assigned HR operational functions, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors for effective service and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accuracy, scalability, and efficiency in HR operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and leadership for alignment on people practices.
  • Lead payroll operations ensuring accuracy, timely processing, compliance with wage laws, and effective controls.
  • Oversee HRIS administration, governance, routine improvements ensuring data integrity and proper access control.
  • Coach and develop HR team members, setting clear expectations and fostering accountability and collaboration.
  • Drive ongoing enhancement of HR processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related fields or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years progressive experience in HR with focus on Employee Relations and HR Operations.
  • Strong expertise in handling investigations and complex employee relations issues independently.
  • Proven ability to coach managers through corrective actions and difficult employee matters.
  • Experience in an HR leadership role managing employee relations and operational HR functions like Payroll and HRIS.
  • Experience managing cross-functional operations and processes.
  • People leadership skills including performance management, coaching, team development, and ensuring accountability.
  • Excellent judgment to assess risks and make decisions in complex and ambiguous scenarios.
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential issues with discretion.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to guide leaders successfully.
  • Skilled in multitasking in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication, policy interpretation, and writing.

Work Environment

  • Standard controlled indoor office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Remote or hybrid work requires a quiet, distraction-free workspace and reliable internet connection.
  • Equipment such as computers, monitors, keyboards, and headsets will be provided.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged sitting and computer use.
  • Frequent communication via speech, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Manual dexterity for typing and mouse usage.
  • Occasional walking, stair climbing, light bending, lifting, and carrying.
  • Some travel may be needed for company meetings.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110,000 to $120,000 annually, dependent on qualifications and experience. Eligible candidates may participate in discretionary bonus plans and comprehensive benefits, including retirement plans, health coverage, and paid time off, in accordance with applicable laws.
