Role Overview

We seek a seasoned finance expert to join the Global Financial Reporting team, focusing on Ind AS and Financial Reporting. This role demands technical proficiency in accounting to guide on complex transactions, elevate financial reporting standards across the organization, support accounting standard implementations, collaborate with auditors and business units, and ensure consistent Ind AS application across entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Ind AS and Financial Reporting Centre of Excellence across the Group, offering technical accounting assistance to business and finance teams.
  • Advise on intricate and non-routine transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, mergers, restructurings, treasury operations, and share-based payments.
  • Prepare and evaluate technical accounting documents including memorandums, position papers, and policy guidelines.
  • Assist in the creation and scrutiny of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures aligned with Ind AS requirements.
  • Assess impacts of new accounting standards and regulatory changes, driving Group-wide implementation.
  • Review accounting outputs from finance teams ensuring adherence to Group policies and Ind AS standards.
  • Collaborate with statutory and internal auditors, consultants, and regulators to resolve financial reporting matters promptly.
  • Support assessments related to M&A, purchase price allocations, impairments, business combinations, and restructuring projects.
  • Promote standardization of accounting policies, reporting practices, and governance across all units and geographies.
  • Conduct Ind AS technical training and knowledge sharing to build finance team capabilities.
  • Contribute to annual report preparation ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance in disclosures.
  • Engage with Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Business teams on accounting impacts of vital transactions.
  • Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and enhanced reporting controls and governance.
  • Stay updated on emerging accounting developments and recommend policy and process enhancements.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4-6 years of experience, ideally with a Big 4 Accounting Advisory background.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) covering business combinations, consolidation, financial instruments, revenue recognition, leases, impairment, and disclosures.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing standalone and consolidated financial statements, annual reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Skilled in drafting technical accounting memorandums and navigating complex accounting issues around M&A and strategic financial moves.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities, with aptitude to collaborate with senior management and auditors.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of juggling multiple priorities under strict reporting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a major India-based manufacturing firm with revenues above INR 5,000 crores (FMCG experience is advantageous but not mandatory).
  • Prior tenure in Accounting Advisory Services at a Big 4 firm.
  • Exposure to IFRS and international financial reporting standards.
  • Handling technical accounting for mergers, carve-outs, and corporate restructures.
  • Knowledge of SEBI Listing Regulations and Companies Act reporting requirements.
  • Preparation or review of comprehensive Annual Reports including integrated disclosures.
  • Familiar with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, eMerge, Blackline, or similar.
