Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to join the FAAS team with deep expertise in transaction advisory and technical accounting governance. As a Manager, you will oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring they meet EY's global standards for quality and timeliness. Although based in an EY GDS location, you will collaborate with EY teams and clients worldwide, with possible short-term travel to various countries.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global or domestic teams to execute FAAS solutions, including accounting and PMO support for purchase price accounting, divestitures/carve-outs, IPOs, SPACs, and bankruptcy-related accounting (fresh start accounting).
- Prepare financial statements and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
- Conduct GAAP conversions and accounting policy governance.
- Perform technical accounting research and advisory services.
- Support remediation and readiness efforts.
- Organize and deliver technical training sessions.
- Manage service delivery quality and resolve issues.
- Lead and develop teams of Assistant Managers and Seniors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work under the EY global methodology.
- Conduct performance reviews, mentor team members, and identify development and training opportunities.
- Collaborate with Americas or EMEIA FAAS leadership to support growth and quality initiatives.
- Strengthen relationships with global teams and leverage them to identify new business opportunities.
- Apply sound professional judgment and current accounting standards to meet engagement requirements and regulatory standards.
- Engage in practice development activities such as thought leadership, industry events, training delivery, and team communications.
- Support business development by researching and identifying prospects with new and existing clients.
Required Skills and Expertise
- Expertise in IFRS, US GAAP, and international accounting standards.
- Extensive practical experience in transaction accounting and reporting including IPOs, SPACs, carve-outs, and purchase price allocation.
- Proven capabilities in GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards.
- Skilled in drafting and designing accounting policies.
- Proficient in technical accounting research and advisory.
- Experience in consolidation, compilation, and financial statement close processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
- Ability and flexibility to travel at short notice when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with international clients.
- Prior experience in a leading consulting firm.
- Exposure to data analytics and visualization tools (advantageous).
Eligibility
The ideal candidate holds a Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US), or ACCA (UK) qualification and possesses 6 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in assurance or finance controllership roles, including at least 2 years in Financial Accounting and Advisory Services. Experience in Big 10 firms is a plus.
