About the Role
This position is responsible for steering the full commercial bidding process for both local and international opportunities. The goal is to produce proposals that are compliant, commercially attractive, and profitable, while supporting the growth of Vodacom Business.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Managing bids from the initial qualification stage through planning, response preparation, submission, negotiations, and final contract closure.
- Designing bid approaches that balance customer needs with business priorities, market positioning, profitability, and technical or solution feasibility.
- Making sure every submission follows internal governance, financial, legal, and commercial approval rules, with major risks identified and addressed before delivery.
- Overseeing the review and negotiation of customer agreements, including master service agreements, service level agreements, and related commercial terms, to protect the business while still meeting customer expectations.
- Working closely with sales, finance, legal, technical, partner, and affiliate teams to deliver accurate, timely, and customer-focused responses for complex opportunities.
Required Experience and Qualifications
You should hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Commerce, Telecommunications, or a related discipline. The role calls for at least 5 years of relevant experience in bid management, commercial management, proposal development, or sales support. Hands-on experience with contract review, commercial negotiation, and governance approval workflows is required. Background in the telecommunications or technology sector is preferred. A project management credential such as PMP or PRINCE2 would be an added advantage.
