Role Summary

The Manager in Commercial Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) for EU/International will act as a critical finance partner supporting the Commercial EU/International and Corporate Marketing & Communications teams. Reporting to the Director, BP&A EU/International and the finance department, this role leads all financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and OPEX management for designated functions. It also includes support for revenue analysis and distributor management to enhance commercial oversight across the region.

This position requires a proactive and collaborative finance professional comfortable managing multiple priorities independently in a dynamic international setting, providing actionable financial insights and driving accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning for assigned business segments.
  • Analyze and report monthly financial outcomes including variance explanations and ongoing management reports.
  • Guide month-end closing operations such as accruals and collaborate with accounting to ensure accurate and prompt reporting.
  • Oversee purchase order workflows and monitor expenditures relative to set budgets.
  • Work closely with functional leadership to offer financial advice, identify risks and opportunities, and underpin reasoned business decisions.
  • Maintain a detailed, accessible repository of financial terms pertaining to distribution and licensing contracts.
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of distributor reporting databases, including inventory, sell-out, and pricing information.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators to enhance business scrutiny and responsibility.
  • Contribute to monthly management reporting pack preparation.
  • Establish and nurture effective relationships with senior managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Promote financial clarity and accountability by communicating performance and drivers openly.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to improve forecast accuracy, reporting, and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and reporting mandates.
  • Prepare financial analyses, presentations, and business cases as requested.

Qualifications

  • Qualified CA with 6 to 8 years' experience in FP&A or controlling, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences sectors; essential experience includes OPEX ownership at country, regional, or corporate level.
  • Substantial expertise managing operating expenses, budgets, forecasts, and reports within multinational or international companies.
  • In-depth knowledge of month-end close, accrual accounting, and internal financial controls.
  • Proven capacity to operate independently and handle multiple priorities effectively in fast-moving environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and collaborate with all organizational levels including senior management.
  • Strong communication abilities to present financial data clearly to financial and non-financial stakeholders alike.
