Job description
Role overview
BSI is seeking a Management Systems Auditor to support organisations as they work through certification and assessment against ISO standards. The position is based in the West Midlands, ideally around Worcester or Cheltenham, and combines home-based work with travel to client sites plus remote auditing.
This is a varied auditing role with exposure to organisations of all sizes, from small businesses to well-known global brands across multiple industries. You will guide clients through the audit journey, document your findings in a report, and share recommendations that help them strengthen performance and improve their systems.
Compensation and benefits
The role offers a competitive basic salary that depends on experience, along with a company car, incentive bonus, and a strong benefits package.
Audit focus and background
The ideal candidate will bring experience across more than one management system standard, with particular value placed on ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and/or ISO 9001. IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are also considered an advantage.
To meet certification needs, experience in one or more of the following sectors is especially relevant: construction and/or manufacturing, clean/waste water management, and the National Highway Sector Schemes (NHSS).
Applicants who are not yet certified as Lead ISO Auditors for these standards may still be considered if they show strong potential, as training and development can be provided to expand their capability. Professionals working in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) roles who want to move into external auditing are encouraged to express interest.
Ways of working
The role is home-based, with a mix of travel to customer locations and remote assessment activity. Each assignment will differ, so adaptability and comfort with change are important.
