Job description

Overview

The City of Moreno Valley is hiring a Management Assistant to support the Parks and Community Services Division. This role is focused on professional administrative, financial, and analytical work that helps keep department programs, services, and initiatives running effectively. The position supports budgeting, grant administration, reporting, documentation, and project coordination while helping advance the department’s mission of improving community quality of life.

This recruitment is for one vacancy in the Parks & Community Services Department. The posting closes at 5:00 PM PST on Monday, June 15, 2026. The job follows a 4/10 work schedule, with every Friday off.

What the role involves

Working under general supervision, the Management Assistant performs a range of analytical and administrative duties that contribute to the delivery of parks, recreation, and community services. The role includes collecting and reviewing data, developing recommendations based on findings, preparing reports, supporting budgets and grants, and assisting with departmental projects and program implementation.

Ideal candidate profile

The City is looking for someone who is organized, detail-focused, and motivated by public service. The strongest candidate will work well with others, communicate clearly in writing and speaking, and balance several priorities while staying accurate and compliant with policies. Experience in municipal administration, finance, or program management—especially in parks, recreation, or community services—is considered especially valuable.

Minimum qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, public administration, business administration, or a closely related discipline; or equivalent related work experience.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in administrative, operational, budgetary, or similar analytical work.
