Role overview
This opportunity is suited to an experienced cost accountant who wants to contribute within a commercial finance environment. The role sits at the link between finance and manufacturing, with responsibility for accurate product costing, support for month-end close activities, and close collaboration with operations to improve performance across manufacturing sites.
What you will do
- Keep a close eye on key manufacturing areas, especially BOMs, inventory movements, and costing precision.

- Make sure manufactured goods are costed correctly and understand how those costs affect business results.
- Lead the monthly raw material stocktake process so BOM and inventory records remain accurate.
- Prepare prompt variance analysis and manufacturing information to support plant and site operations.
- Support CAPEX analysis, finished goods stocktakes, and improvements to the ERP system.
- Work collaboratively with operations teams to improve efficiency and strengthen internal working relationships.
Experience and capabilities
- 4–7 years of background in cost accounting or manufacturing finance.
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
- Practical month-end accounting experience and confidence using ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel capability, strong attention to detail, and solid analytical thinking.
- CA, CPA, or CIMA qualified, or actively working toward one of these; exposure to manufacturing or FMCG is preferred.
Benefits and culture
- Opportunity to join a stable and established New Zealand business with genuine career growth opportunities.
- Collaborative finance environment with direct exposure to operations and senior leadership.
- Involvement in meaningful continuous improvement work that helps shape manufacturing practices.
- A supportive workplace where contribution is valued and learning is encouraged.
- Competitive pay package aligned to your experience and capabilities.
