About the Role
This position involves performing general maintenance tasks throughout the plant while strictly following company policies and safety procedures. The technician will monitor production equipment, carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary, and assist with equipment installation and upkeep across the facility. Manual maintenance duties include greasing, oil changes, and cleaning machinery. Troubleshooting mechanical issues with the aid of detailed schematics and blueprints is essential. The role requires flexibility to work other shifts when needed and adherence to safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout and OSHA standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture within the workplace.
- Receive and apply requisite training related to job tasks.
- Operate across various maintenance roles as assigned, ensuring seamless plant operations.
- Monitor, repair, and adjust equipment during production processes.
- Document maintenance corrections and rebuild equipment as appropriate.
- Assist in installing new equipment and perform facility-wide maintenance duties.
- Use hand tools and electrical and pneumatic power tools for maintenance activities.
- Perform welding, cutting, minor electrical repairs, and mechanical replacements such as motors, shafts, pumps, and piping systems.
- Conduct chemical tests on boilers and monitor boiler function when required.
- Understand and comply with safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with fellow maintenance personnel and supervisors.
- Willingness to pursue continual learning through external training, company programs, and vendor instruction.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in welding and industrial maintenance, with at least 6 months continuous employment in the last 2 years.
- Basic knowledge and skills in welding, hydraulics, basic electricity, power transmission, pneumatics, and plumbing.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, assignments, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders and stairs up to 60 feet, and standing for prolonged durations.
- Able to work in various environmental conditions including extreme temperatures and exposure to odors.
- Certification to operate gas/hydraulic motors and lifts preferred.
- Compliance with company rehire policy: minimum 180-day waiting period and maximum of three employments with the company.
Compensation and Work Details
- Hourly pay range from $22.00 to $31.45 per hour.
- Primary work shift: 1st shift (daytime).
- Onsite position located in Cuthbert, GA.
- No relocation assistance provided.
