The Maintenance Technician at IKEA Qatar plays a crucial role in ensuring the store's physical environment remains safe, clean, secure, and fully operational, maintaining the brand's reputation. The incumbent is responsible for executing planned maintenance, carrying out inspections, managing vendor coordination, and strictly adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Duties

• Execute planned maintenance activities that sustain the building and mechanical systems in optimal ‘as new’ condition.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and respond efficiently to work orders to guarantee functional efficiency.
• Perform regular inspections of the building, grounds, and maintenance equipment; serve as liaison with external service providers.
• Apply facility management routines and protocols, whether preventive or reactive, to sustain operational reliability.
• Optimize departmental productivity by working systematically and efficiently.
• Promote a safe working environment by complying with all applicable local and international safety regulations and IKEA’s risk management guidelines.
• Support a service-focused culture through collaboration across various departments.
• Champion inclusivity and contribute positively to the diverse IKEA workplace culture.
• Utilize basic computer skills to assist various maintenance-related documentation and processes.

Qualifications and Skills

• High school or trade school certificate required.
• Between 1 and 3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance.
• Fundamental understanding of fire safety and security systems.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Strong customer orientation and teamwork skills.
• Basic proficiency with computers.
