Job Overview

The Washington Court House, Ohio location is recruiting for a full-time, permanent General Laborer role, specifically as a Backstand Technician. This entry-level manufacturing position entails working on 12-hour rotating shifts within a 24/5 operation (Monday to Friday), with shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The starting wage is $24.76 per hour with an additional $1.50 per hour shift premium. Employees are expected to progress to the Material Handler role within 6 to 9 months of joining.

Key Responsibilities

• Stripping, preparing, and loading large paper rolls.
• Using cutting tools and handling physical lifting tasks safely.
• Following established written or electronic operating procedures accurately.
• Maintaining cleanliness and performing basic maintenance in the work area.
• Adhering to safety standards and wearing necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).

Progression to Material Handler (Within 6-9 Months)

When promoted, responsibilities include:

• Handling materials according to transportation and stacking guidelines.
• Managing shipping and receiving duties involving railcars and trailers.
• Operating powered industrial trucks such as fork trucks, clamp trucks, dual fork trucks, bale clamp trucks, and aerial work platforms.
• Utilizing hoists and dollies properly for loading and unloading trucks, laying rolls, and moving pallets or heavy materials.
• Conducting daily safety inspections and maintaining work areas.
• Maintaining high standards for safety, quality, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude or prior industrial experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform physical work and commit to 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Basic proficiency in mathematics, reading, writing, and computer use.
• Strong team orientation with a solid commitment to safety and quality.
