Position Overview

The Washington Court House, Ohio facility is recruiting full-time General Laborers. This entry-level role, known as Backstand Technician, involves converting large paper rolls into smaller sizes, preparing materials, operating relevant machinery, and maintaining a clean work environment. The position offers growth potential, expecting promotion to Material Handler within 6 to 9 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct roll stripping, preparation, and loading processes.
• Utilize cutting and hand tools safely while performing physical lifting.
• Adhere strictly to written and electronic operational procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance duties in the work area.
• Comply with safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Advancement to Material Handler

After 6-9 months, employees are expected to transition to Material Handler with increased pay. Additional duties include:

• Handle materials by following transportation and stacking protocols.
• Manage shipping and receiving of railcars and trailers.
• Operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., fork trucks, clamp trucks, bale clamp trucks, aerial platforms).
• Use hoists and dollies appropriately.
• Load and unload trucks, move pallets and heavy materials safely.
• Perform daily safety checks and uphold cleanliness, safety, quality, and maintenance standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude or prior industrial experience is advantageous.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks and work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Basic proficiency in math, reading, writing, and computer use.
• Strong teamwork orientation with commitment to safety and quality.

Working Hours & Compensation

Shifts are 12 hours rotating between 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, operating 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday on a 24/5 schedule. Starting pay is $24.09 per hour plus a $1.50 per hour shift premium. Upon promotion to Material Handler, wages increase to $25.19 per hour plus the same shift premium.
