Job description
Overview
This role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance within guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public areas. Responsibilities include mattress and bed frame inspection and assembly, vacuuming behind and under furniture, stain removal from carpets and fabrics, dusting, arranging artwork, ensuring all furniture, fixtures, and equipment are complete and functioning correctly, replacing light fixtures, and inspecting and repairing seals and insulation.
Core Duties
- Carry out maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of all guest rooms in compliance with hotel preventative maintenance standards and guidelines.
- Perform minor repairs such as tightening toilet fittings, replacing light bulbs, and patching wall holes.
- Clean all room surfaces thoroughly, including tubs, wall tiles, floors, walls, windows, and mirrors.
- Immediately report significant maintenance issues, unusual findings, or hazards to supervisors or managers.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety and security policies; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; and complete all mandatory safety training and certifications.
- Wear a clean, complete uniform and maintain a neat and professional appearance on-site at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and hotel-specific information and safeguard all company property.
- Welcome and assist guests courteously according to company standards, anticipate their needs, and respond appropriately.
- Develop positive professional relationships with colleagues fostering teamwork and mutual support to achieve shared goals.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements.
- Physically capable of bending, turning, pulling, squatting, and stretching as required; able to independently move loads up to 23 kg and assist with heavier weights.
- Be accustomed to standing, sitting, and moving continuously throughout long shifts.
- Perform any other duties relevant to the position as assigned.
Qualifications
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
- Less than one year of relevant work experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No certification or license required.
