Job description
About the Role
Our client, a prominent lower mid-market boutique investment firm located in the Greater Dusseldorf area, is seeking to expand their team with a Vice President-level professional. This leadership role encompasses managing the complete deal process for mid-market transactions, cultivating client relationships, and guiding junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end transaction execution including originating mandates, performing valuations, preparing marketing documents, coordinating due diligence, and finalizing deals on both sell and buy sides.
- Serve as the main liaison for clients such as company founders, management teams, and shareholders, offering clear strategic advice through complex situations.
- Supervise and mentor analysts and associates by thoroughly reviewing financial models, information memoranda, and process documentation to guarantee accuracy and quality.
- Enhance business development efforts by nurturing connections with intermediaries, corporations, and private equity investors, bolstering the firm's deal opportunities across various sectors including software, industrials, and generalist fields.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in M&A or corporate finance acquired at investment banks, boutique advisory firms, Big Four corporate finance teams, or private equity companies, demonstrated by a successful track record of completed deals.
- Fluent German (native or professional proficiency) and professional-level English, capable of confidently engaging with Mittelstand owners and C-suite executives.
- Robust expertise in valuation techniques, financial modeling, and structuring transactions, complemented by strong commercial insight into deal processes.
- A relevant academic background in finance, business, economics, or related disciplines, combined with a proactive and entrepreneurial attitude suited for a lean boutique environment where Vice Presidents handle both execution and origination duties.
