Job description

Role overview

SP+, part of the Metropolis group, applies artificial intelligence and computer vision to create ticketless parking experiences. The company operates one of the largest parking networks in the United States and supports mobility across thousands of locations in North America and Europe. Its broader mission is to simplify everyday movement and save people time through seamless checkout-free experiences.

What the role involves

This position is suited to dependable valet drivers who enjoy customer interaction, bring a friendly attitude, and can work as part of a supportive team. Many team members began their careers in valet operations, and the role can serve as an entry point into a long-term career.

  • Provide prompt and professional service by addressing guest concerns, handling requests efficiently, and communicating clearly.
  • Check each vehicle before parking it and document any existing damage or notable issues.
  • Discuss valet pricing with customers when needed.
  • Follow traffic regulations and maintain safe driving habits at all times.
  • Escalate accidents, hazards, policy breaches, and unusual incidents to management.
  • Use local knowledge of major roads, landmarks, and highways to help guests move through the area smoothly.
  • Arrive on time in a clean uniform for every scheduled shift and stay in uniform throughout the shift.
  • Support the management team with other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and skills needed

Applicants should hold a valid state driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and keep a current address on file. Confidence handling a manual transmission vehicle is considered an advantage. Candidates must be available for special schedules when required, including second shift, third shift, and weekends. Legal authorization to work in the United States is required, and valid documentation must be provided if hired. The job also calls for the ability to communicate accurately with customers and coworkers, respond professionally to complaints, and handle basic arithmetic involving U.S. currency. Strong reading comprehension, writing ability, and the capacity to follow written and spoken instructions are important, along with staying calm when schedules or conditions change unexpectedly.

Physical requirements

The job involves regular standing, walking, and handling cash or equipment with the hands. Occasional sitting and climbing or balancing may also be required. Employees must sometimes lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Compensation and benefits

The posted hourly pay is between $13.00 and $15.00, and the position can also earn tips on top of base pay. Eligible employees may access medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, long-term and short-term disability coverage, life insurance, accident insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off.

Additional information

The employer is committed to equal opportunity in hiring, promotion, training, and all job classifications regardless of protected characteristics under federal or state law. Harassment and retaliation are not tolerated. The company may use an automated employment decision tool to evaluate candidates against the role’s qualifications and responsibilities. Data connected to applications may be retained for a reasonable period for that purpose, and if hired, may become part of employee records. Applicants seeking accommodation for an alternative selection process or with questions about data retention for a New York City posting can contact the recruiter listed by the employer.
