Role Overview
The LPG Driver and Filler position involves predominantly working independently once initial training is complete. The role demands a high level of physical activity, as it includes handling and filling LPG cylinders, loading and unloading trucks, and delivering across the Christchurch region. Safety is a top priority, requiring strict adherence to health and safety standards throughout all tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate primarily on a sole charge basis after training.
- Fill large volumes of LPG cylinders and manage their safe handling.
- Load and unload cylinders onto trucks.
- Transport LPG cylinders safely to customers within Christchurch.
- Maintain a safe working environment adhering to company health and safety policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Possess at least a Class 2 heavy vehicle license; Dangerous Goods endorsement is beneficial but can be provided through training.
- Proven experience driving trucks, preferably in delivery roles.
- Strong commitment to excellent customer service.
- Good physical fitness to handle heavy LPG cylinders effectively.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.
- Exemplify integrity, adaptability, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexibly, including outside ordinary business hours and during diverse weather conditions.
Additional Selection Conditions
