Job description

Role overview

This role is part of the Loss Prevention & Security function at The Ritz-Carlton in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management position based on-site.

The position focuses on protecting guests, employees, and property while upholding the luxury service standards associated with The Ritz-Carlton brand. The officer is expected to support a safe, secure, and orderly environment across the property.

Key duties

  • Carry out regular patrols across all parts of the property and support guest room access when needed.
  • Keep watch over CCTV systems, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and life-safety/fire systems.
  • Secure property entry points whenever required.
  • Perform daily inspections to identify physical hazards and unsafe conditions.
  • Respond to accidents, provide first aid or CPR when appropriate, and contact emergency medical services when needed.
  • Support guests and employees during emergencies and notify the right people about accidents, assaults, or other incidents.
  • Calm disruptive situations involving guests or employees and involve outside help if necessary.
  • Prepare incident reports and shift summaries to document security-related matters and daily activity.
  • Handle interruptions and complaints while resolving safety risks.
  • Remove unauthorized or unwelcome individuals from the property without disturbing operations.
  • Respond to vehicle accidents and theft-related incidents.
  • Use approved code responses when requesting assistance.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of security records and property documents, sharing information only with authorized people.
  • Support investigations by collecting evidence and interviewing relevant parties.

  • Follow company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and training/certification rules.
  • Keep uniform and personal appearance clean, professional, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Protect company assets and safeguard proprietary information.
  • Welcome guests courteously, acknowledge service needs, and assist guests with disabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Build positive working relationships and cooperate with the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards and complete other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
  • Be able to remain standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, move quickly when situations demand it, and work through an entire shift as required.
  • Be capable of reading small print, visually checking equipment, and using computers or point-of-sale systems for work-related information.
  • Handle physical tasks that may involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and moving through narrow, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stair-filled areas.
  • Some jurisdictions may require extra licensing or registration for this role.

Preferred background

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. No prior related work experience is required, and supervisory experience is not needed. No license or certification is specified.
