Loss Prevention Officer - Newbridge

Role overview

As part of the Loss Prevention team at NEXT, you will help maintain a secure and safe shopping and working environment. The role includes wearing a uniform, visibly deterring theft and loss, and supporting the protection of company assets.

Shift pattern

This position is for rotational shifts.

Key duties

• Help ensure the store remains a safe and secure place for both colleagues and customers.
• Partner with store teams and develop effective working relationships with local police.
• Spot potential high-risk areas and provide a visible deterrent on the sales floor.
• Work with store management to make sure loss prevention standards are followed consistently.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by the Regional Loss Prevention Manager, including after-hours surveillance, loss prevention audits, extra support in other stores, and attendance at team meetings.

Candidate profile

• Experience in retail security is preferred.
• You should be flexible and open to working across different stores and varying opening times.
• Daily travel may be required to cover a group of stores within a reasonable distance from your home.
• A strong commitment to keeping store teams and customers safe is important.
• You need to be organised and able to work efficiently in a busy, fast-moving retail setting.
• The role suits someone who is self-driven, proactive, and able to use initiative.
• You should communicate confidently and build positive relationships with store teams, police, and customers.
• You must be fully available to work 5 out of 7 days, including evenings and weekends.
• Comfort using IT systems and computers is preferred, though not essential.
