Courtyard by Marriott is hiring a Loss Prevention Officer to support the safety and security of guests, associates, and property in Singapore. This is a full-time, non-management position based at 99 Irrawaddy Road, Novena, Singapore 329568. The role is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the property regularly and help guests access rooms when needed.
• Keep watch over CCTV systems, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire/life safety systems.
• Secure entrances when required and carry out daily checks for physical hazards.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid or CPR when needed, and contact emergency services.
• Assist guests and employees during emergency situations and notify the right people about incidents, attacks, or accidents.
• Calm disruptive situations involving guests or employees and call for outside help when necessary.
• Prepare incident reports, shift summaries, and daily activity reports for all loss prevention matters.
• Handle interruptions and complaints while resolving unsafe conditions.
• Remove unauthorized individuals from the property without disrupting operations.
• Respond to vehicle accidents and thefts, using proper code responses to request assistance.
• Keep all security and property records confidential and only share information with authorized personnel.
• Investigate incidents, collect evidence, and interview relevant parties.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Working conditions and physical requirements

The job requires following company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, completing required safety training and certifications, and maintaining a professional appearance. You will need to communicate clearly and professionally, prepare written documents accurately, build positive working relationships, and support team goals. The role also involves extensive standing, sitting, and walking; reading small print; visually checking equipment; using computers or POS systems; moving quickly in response to situations; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds alone and over 75 pounds with help; and working in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stair-filled areas. Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pulling, stooping, and fine hand coordination are also part of the job.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• No prior related work experience is required.
• Valid security licence and first aid certification are required.
• Some locations may require additional licensing or registration to be eligible for the role.
