Job description
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate procurement of goods and services essential for base operations and project implementation, adhering to AVSI procedures and operational leaders' requirements.
- Manage storage, warehousing, and distribution of materials according to project needs.
- Oversee organizational equipment management, including maintenance and related documentation tracking.
- Identify and maintain an updated supplier database based on reliability, quality, competitiveness, and technical capabilities.
- Assist in updating the inventory of AVSI assets and project belongings.
- Monitor assets and equipment for proper tracking and accountability.
- Support technical needs planning for the sub-office and field teams according to organizational activities.
- Coordinate logistics requests across various projects to maximize resource utilization.
- Contribute to the development and follow-up of the organization's procurement plan.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers, logistics team members, and other AVSI departments in Haiti.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Bachelor's degree (Bac+3) in logistics, procurement management, supply chain, or an equivalent field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, and stock control.
- Experience managing vehicle and fleet operations.
- Previous work in fragile or post-disaster settings is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with the local security context is strongly valued.
Technical and Professional Competencies
- Proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Knowledge of procurement procedures in humanitarian organizations preferred.
- Basic vehicle mechanics and maintenance skills appreciated.
- Strong organizational skills, rigor, and ability to multitask effectively.
- Capability to work under pressure and in challenging security environments.
- Demonstrated integrity, transparency, and adherence to humanitarian principles.
- High adaptability and teamwork orientation.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
