About the Opportunity
This role sits within a UAE-based import-export and cross-border logistics business focused on making supply chain movements smoother for manufacturers and distributors operating across regions. The work centers on customs adherence, freight coordination, and efficient last-mile delivery so goods can move reliably by air, sea, and land throughout the Middle East.
Role Overview
The Logistics Officer will oversee shipment coordination from booking through final delivery, while keeping documentation, compliance, partner communication, and operational reporting accurate and on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle cargo movement end to end, including bookings, paperwork, customs processing, and delivery completion across UAE and GCC ports.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, transport vendors, and customs intermediaries to keep deliveries timely and costs controlled.
- Draft and review shipping paperwork such as Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, and Certificates of Origin in line with UAE and international rules.
- Monitor shipment status live, troubleshoot delays or mismatches, and keep stakeholders updated on any supply chain issues.
- Record inventory and shipment activity accurately in ERP or supply chain systems, and prepare KPI summaries covering lead time, cost per shipment, and delivery performance.
- Assist with customs audits, follow UAE Customs Authority requirements, and coordinate with government bodies for permits and tariff classification matters.
Skills and Qualifications
The position calls for strong operational coordination skills, hands-on logistics documentation knowledge, and the ability to work confidently with customs and freight stakeholders in a fast-moving trade environment.
Technical and Domain Requirements
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of SAP logistics modules
- Experience using freight forwarding platforms
- Understanding of UAE customs rules
- Knowledge of Incoterms 2020
- Ability to process Bills of Lading
- Familiarity with operations at Port of Jebel Ali
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Preferred: Arabic language skills
- Preferred: Experience with the Dubai Trade Portal
- Preferred: Familiarity with IATA and IMO shipping standards
