Job description
About Himveda Foods
Himveda Foods is a dynamic startup dedicated to bringing authentic, organic, and natural foods from the Himalayan regions directly into Indian households. We emphasize sourcing fresh, traditional products such as seabuckthorn, sun-dried fruits, and authentic desi ghee, made using time-honored methods and locally sourced ingredients from mountain pastures.
Role Overview
This position operates remotely but requires consistent field engagement. You will visit farms and small producers in your area regularly and act as the liaison between the local producers and Himveda Foods. Your primary responsibility is to build and maintain trusted relationships with farmers and harvesters, ensuring quality sourcing and smooth supply coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture authentic relationships with local farmers, seabuckthorn pickers, ghee producers, and other small organic food artisans.
- Manage and synchronize sourcing schedules, coordinating directly with producers.
- Conduct on-site inspections of farms and production units to verify quality standards and readiness for harvest.
- Serve as the dependable connection between the local community and the Himveda team.
- Support the identification and onboarding of new local partners to expand our supply network.
Candidate Profile
- Resides in or has profound ties to the Ladakh or Lahaul-Spiti regions.
- Possesses understanding of local language, culture, and agricultural seasons, recognizing that trust and relationships are vital in this work.
- Comfortable traveling across the region to visit farms and suppliers.
- Possesses good communication skills and can effectively coordinate remotely with the central team.
- Previous experience in agriculture, sourcing, or community initiatives is advantageous but not mandatory; deep local connection is prioritized.
Additional Information
We especially encourage applications from women in these mountainous areas and anyone who shares a strong connection to the land and its people. This opportunity allows you to contribute to shaping how Himveda Foods collaborates with Himalayan mountain communities from the ground up as a growing enterprise.
