Job description
About the Role
We are seeking Live-in Caregivers to support individuals in their own homes across Ireland. This position is open to candidates currently residing in Ireland or those abroad who already hold the legal right to work here, as visa sponsorship is not offered. For successful international recruits, a comprehensive relocation package including flights, accommodation, food, and transport is provided as per specific placement details.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
- Provide support for toileting and continence care
- Aid in mobility, walking, and safe transfers
- Prepare meals and promote nutritional well-being
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and local engagements
- Assist with shopping and running errands
- Carry out light housekeeping, laundry, and other household chores
- Encourage and assist with outdoor activities and walks
- Provide medication and appointment reminders according to care plans
- Maintain communication with care management teams about client needs changes
- Keep accurate care records and follow individual care plans
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 6 months recent professional caregiving experience in settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, live-in care, or home care
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Client-focused, respectful, and caring approach
- Ability to work autonomously and adapt to different home environments
- Maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
- Physically capable of fulfilling job duties
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to undergo mandatory training and background checks including Garda vetting
Qualifications and Pay Structure
Candidates holding a QQI Level 5 qualification in Care Skills and Care of the Older Person or an equivalent qualification are eligible for a higher pay scale. Those without this qualification may be considered for a lower pay band upon meeting training requirements.
Pay Rates:
- Band 1 (Unqualified): €14.15/hr Monday-Saturday, €16.27/hr Sunday, €20 sleeping night allowance Monday-Saturday, €30 sleeping night allowance Sunday
- Band 2 (Qualified with QQI Level 5 or equivalent): €14.94/hr Monday-Saturday, €17.18/hr Sunday, €20 sleeping night allowance Monday-Saturday, €30 sleeping night allowance Sunday
- An additional 15% hourly pay is provided for caregivers assisting couples

Training and Work Schedule
New hires will complete essential training such as HSELand online modules, Dovida Academy, and mandatory care courses prior to placement. The usual working cycle involves an 8-week live-in rotation followed by 8 weeks off, including weekend and overnight shifts depending on client needs.
