Job description
Role Overview
A major construction project in Lusail is looking for a Lifting Appointed Person to oversee and control lifting activities on site. The role focuses on safe execution, planning, compliance, and coordination across the lifting team.
What You Will Do
- Organize and supervise lifting operations from planning through execution.
- Develop lift plans and supporting method statements.
- Carry out risk assessments and identify potential hazards before work starts.
- Choose appropriate cranes and lifting gear for each lift.
- Ensure all lifting work follows applicable safety rules and standards.
- Check that the lifting team is qualified and competent for the task.
- Work closely with crane operators, riggers, and site supervisors.
- Observe lifting work on site and intervene when conditions are unsafe.
- Keep inspection files, operation logs, and related records up to date.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- A diploma or degree in Engineering or Construction is preferred.
- CPCS A61 Appointed Person certification or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Formal training in lifting operations and safety procedures is expected.
- Good knowledge of lifting rules and standards, including LOLER or local regulations.
- Experience in preparing lift plans and risk assessments is necessary.
- Strong understanding of cranes, rigging practices, and load charts.
- High safety awareness and sound judgment when making decisions.
- At least 5 years of experience in lifting operations or a closely related area.
