Job Overview
This full-time Lifeguard position is based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia at a Marriott International facility. The role falls under the Golf, Fitness, & Entertainment category and is non-management. The candidate must be present onsite to ensure swimmers' safety in recreational water settings.
Primary Duties
- Monitor swimmers vigilantly and apply appropriate rescue measures when assistance is needed.
- Observe swimming zones for hazardous conditions, irregular behavior, or at-risk swimmers.
- Enforce safety rules and facility regulations to maintain a secure environment.
- Identify and report situations where guests may be unable to safely partake in activities, notifying supervisors accordingly.
- Provide immediate aid to injured guests until professional medical help arrives.
- Create a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all visitors.
- Manage towel inventory by collecting, folding, and stacking according to company protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness by washing, mopping, and tidying poolside areas.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly to management and complete required safety trainings and certifications.
- Adhere to company policies, maintain confidentiality, and safeguard company assets.
- Greet guests professionally, maintain a clean and professional uniform, and anticipate guest needs including assistance for those with disabilities.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and coworkers, supporting a respectful work culture.
- Comply with quality standards and assure tool and equipment safety through visual inspections.
- Physically capable of running, walking, or jogging to respond rapidly in various situations; lift and maneuver equipment up to specified weights, sometimes with assistance.
- Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces, stairs, ladders, and ramps safely.
- Perform any additional reasonable tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) preferred.
- No prior related work or supervisory experience required.
- Mandatory certifications include CPR and First Aid.
- Must hold any other fitness or safety certifications as required by local or state regulations.
