Job description
Role overview
This part-time permanent position is for a Delivery Agent, also referred to as a Letter Carrier, based in Thompson, Manitoba. In this role, you represent Canada Post in the community and help ensure that letters and parcels reach homes and businesses on time.
The position is designed for someone who enjoys staying active throughout the year, is comfortable working outdoors in all seasons, and takes pride in serving the public.
Key duties
- Begin each shift at the depot by organizing and preparing the day’s mail and parcel deliveries.
- Load the postal vehicle and operate it safely during deliveries.
- Spend most of the working day outdoors delivering items by foot or vehicle along the assigned route.
- Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and parcels for future delivery.
Schedule and working conditions
This role follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with work starting at 08:15 AM and ending at 12:23 PM.
The daily workload is listed as 4.13 hours per day, which equals 20.65 hours per week.
Language requirement: English essential.
Job closing date: 2026-07-14.
Requirements
- A valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence.
- A clean and safe driving record covering at least the last 3 years, along with a driver’s abstract.
- The physical capacity to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) throughout the day.
- Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions.
Preferred experience
- Background in customer service.
- Prior experience with deliveries or driving work.
Compensation and training
The pay rate is $23.81 per hour.
