Castleknock Hotel, located on Porterstown Road in Castleknock, Dublin 15, is a 4-star award-winning property and part of FBD Hotels & Resorts. Its Tonic Health Club provides a premium leisure setting for hotel guests and members, featuring a fully equipped gym, fitness studio, 18-metre swimming pool, toddler pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, and ice bath.

The hotel is hiring a Leisure Attendant for Tonic Health Club, and the role calls for relevant fitness credentials together with availability for a flexible weekly schedule.

Requirements

The successful candidate should bring a combination of practical leisure-centre experience, fitness qualifications, and strong people skills.

• Experience working in a similar leisure, fitness, or hospitality environment
• Pool lifeguard certification from IWS/ILAM, or an equivalent qualification, is preferred
• Nationally recognised NCEHS/NCEF Fitness Instructor qualification, or an equivalent, is required
• First Aid training is an advantage
• Assistant Swim Teacher qualification is an advantage
• Excellent spoken English and strong communication skills are essential
• Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
• Strong customer service, organisational, and time-management abilities
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving setting

Responsibilities

The role covers the smooth day-to-day running of the leisure centre, guest support, pool safety, and general operational tasks.

• Maintain, clean, and keep all areas of the leisure centre in excellent condition
• Deliver a professional, warm, and courteous experience to members and hotel guests
• Handle administrative tasks as needed, including occasional cover at the Tonic reception desk
• Perform lifeguarding duties and maintain close supervision of the pool area
• Carry out routine inspections to confirm pool and plant equipment is functioning properly
• Provide swim teaching for participants across all age groups
• Lead a range of fitness classes
• Support daily operations such as towel handling, stock monitoring, and opening/closing procedures
