Role overview
Thompson Hine LLP, an Am Law 200 firm known for its focus on innovation and inclusion, is hiring a full-time Legal Talent Coordinator for either its Chicago or Los Angeles office. In this role, you will support the Talent Management team by working alongside the Managers of Legal Talent and the Senior Law School Recruiter on the firm’s lateral and law school recruiting efforts across the organization.
Lateral recruiting support
- Keep candidate records current in the applicant tracking system by entering and updating information, adding application materials, tracking status changes, and preparing reports.
- Manage interview logistics end to end, including conference room reservations, catering, travel arrangements when needed, interview calendars, reminders, and collection of post-interview feedback.
- Take part in behavioral panel interviews for associate-level candidates.
- Prepare offer letters for employed lawyers and handle the associated diligence work.
- Assist with attorney onboarding and integration by launching and monitoring onboarding activities in RedCarpet, creating Employment Status Publications for incoming attorneys, drafting welcome communications for new lateral hires, and organizing orientation schedules.
Law school recruiting and summer program support
As needed, you will support the Senior Law School Recruiter with on-campus interviewing and summer program recruiting efforts.
- Assist with OCI registration at law schools.
- Review resumes.
- Coordinate screening and callback interviews and gather feedback.
- Participate in behavioral panel interviews for summer associate candidates.
- Help plan and attend occasional summer program events.
Additional responsibilities
- Attend recurring Talent Management team meetings and periodic industry conferences.
- Participate in a recruiting peer group, either virtual or local.
- Handle miscellaneous administrative work such as invoice coding and processing.
- Take on additional projects and duties as assigned.

This position requires strong administrative experience, excellent organization, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. The firm also emphasizes inclusion, belonging, empathy, and emotional intelligence in day-to-day collaboration.
Compensation and benefits
Pay is based on the market, job responsibilities, the applicant’s experience and skills, and other job-related considerations. The estimated annual salary range is $64,500 to $80,500 for Los Angeles and $59,000 to $74,000 for Chicago.

Work arrangement
This role must be performed at a designated location and during hours set by the manager, in line with the firm’s hybrid work policy. Any changes to location or scheduled hours require manager approval.
