Role Overview

We are looking for a remote Legal Specialist to support a client’s team with contract work, legal analysis, and compliance-focused tasks. In this contractor role, you will work with subject matter experts and product teams to review agreements, negotiate terms, reduce legal exposure, and contribute to legal solutions in a fast-paced, technology-oriented setting.

Core Responsibilities

Review, draft, and negotiate contracts to help achieve business goals while keeping risk under control.
Examine matters in detail and carry out legal research to turn findings into practical guidance.
Assist with litigation and dispute handling by preparing materials and supporting both internal and outside counsel.
Evaluate compliance obligations and help with due diligence for corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
Create prompts and scoring rubrics for legal applications, including participation in multi-step conversations with agents to improve accuracy and consistency.
Maintain strict confidentiality and follow high standards of ethics in every legal activity and communication.
Work with cross-functional teams to develop and improve legal tools and applications using your domain knowledge.

Required Experience and Skills

Strong command of legal fundamentals, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
Solid capability in contract review and negotiation across different legal areas.
Experience with case evaluation, risk analysis, and due diligence work.
Practical exposure to litigation support and dispute resolution.
Excellent written and spoken communication, with strong attention to detail.
High standards of confidentiality, integrity, and professional ethics.
Experience contributing to or building legal software, tools, or systems.

Preferred Background

Prior work on legal conversational agents, evaluation rubrics, or AI-powered workflows.
Exposure to building digital legal products or turning legal expertise into scalable solutions.
Ability to manage complex multi-turn conversations and shape system prompts effectively.
