Role Overview
The Legal Secretary will be based in Accra, Ghana and play a critical role in supporting corporate governance and legal compliance across Orica’s multiple African entities. This role involves collaboration across teams to enforce governance standards throughout the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, contributing strategically to compliance and legal excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee corporate governance tasks and assist with compliance fulfillment for local statutory regulations across African legal entities.
- Prepare and manage important corporate documents, such as board and shareholder resolutions, meeting minutes, and powers of attorney.
- Maintain accurate statutory records, registers, and governance-related databases to ensure compliance accuracy.
- Coordinate with government bodies, regulatory agencies, auditors, banks, and internal stakeholders on matters of legal entity administration and statutory filings.
- Support governance audits, compliance assessments, director appointments, and various corporate secretarial projects across the region.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated background in roles such as Legal Secretary, Company Secretary, Corporate Governance, or Senior Administration.
- Sound knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, statutory compliance obligations, and management of legal documentation.
- Experience working in multinational or heavily regulated environments is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple assignments efficiently.
- Strong proficiency in English communication; knowledge of French is an added benefit.
