Job description
Role Overview
This is a short-term, paid consulting engagement for seasoned professionals with deep experience in commercial contracts and contract lifecycle management. The work is project-based and involves sharing practical, real-world knowledge through a recorded interview for an AI marketplace. It is not a permanent or full-time position.
Only professionals based in the United States should apply. The engagement is remote, completed as a one-off interview, and no advance preparation is required beyond drawing on your own day-to-day experience.
Compensation and Format
The estimated compensation is $145 per hour, calculated on a prorated basis for a 30-minute task. Participants complete a roughly 30-minute AI-guided video interview that is recorded. You will work on your own schedule, using your own equipment and tools.
What the Interview Covers
The interview is designed to surface detailed explanations of how you handle commercial contract workflows in practice. You may be asked to walk through the following areas step by step:
- Receiving, sorting, routing, and prioritizing contract requests based on deal type, urgency, complexity, and the availability of required information
- Creating drafts from templates, playbooks, clause libraries, or counterparty paper while applying version control and escalation rules
- Assessing redlines, negotiating fallback positions, coordinating stakeholder input, and recording business-versus-legal risk decisions
- Handling approvals, signature routing, execution checks, authority validation, repository filing, and metadata capture
The focus is on how you actually perform these workflows, not on high-level summaries.
Who Should Apply
This opportunity is intended for people who can confidently explain their own experience in commercial contract intake, drafting, negotiation, risk review, approvals, signature, and execution. Applicants should be able to answer detailed AI-led interview questions with clarity, depth, and concrete examples from real work.
Additional Requirements and Terms
Applicants should have at least 7 years of relevant experience in commercial contracts, commercial legal work, contract management, contract operations, or CLM execution. The ideal participant will have directly owned or executed these workflows in a live production environment and have participated in decisions involving routing rules, playbook exceptions, fallback positions, escalation thresholds, risk acceptance, approval conditions, and readiness for execution.
Familiarity with tools and systems such as Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Icertis, Conga, Salesforce, Coupa, Word, SharePoint, DocuSign, and Adobe Sign is helpful. Strong communication skills are important, especially the ability to explain process decisions and reasoning in a structured way.
Cross-functional collaboration experience is also relevant, especially where contract workflows intersect with legal, business, finance, compliance, security, procurement, product, engineering, or outside counsel teams.
After completion, your video recording and transcript, together with AI-generated insights, will be shared with the internal research team and an AI lab partner. The information will be used to help build a structured task list for the profession and to improve AI models.
Participants are responsible for their own tools and scheduling, and may take part in other opportunities as they wish.
