Position Summary
The Legal Intern Cum Trainee role supports the legal team in both litigation and non-litigation tasks while providing practical exposure to legal research, drafting, compliance, documentation, and corporate legal procedures. This opportunity facilitates hands-on learning and professional growth under experienced legal mentors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, reviewing, and formatting contracts, agreements, notices, and other legal paperwork.
- Conduct in-depth legal research on statutes, case law, regulations, and precedents.
- Support litigation by organizing case files, document compilation, and maintenance of legal records.
- Help draft petitions, affidavits, applications, and correspondence for legal matters.
- Coordinate communications with advocates, clients, courts, and government agencies as needed.
- Support compliance efforts involving labour, corporate, commercial, intellectual property, and data privacy laws.
- Maintain and organize various legal documents, case files, and compliance records systematically.
- Monitor legal deadlines, court hearing schedules, and mandatory filings.
- Assist in preparing legal opinions, reports, and concise case summaries.
- Support corporate filings, registrations, and related legal documentation.
- Collaborate with internal departments to address legal queries and assess potential risks.
- Carry out other legal and administrative tasks as assigned by the reporting manager.
Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with an LLB degree from a recognized institution.
- Keen interest in litigation, corporate law, and legal compliance activities.
- Basic knowledge of civil, criminal, corporate, labour, contract, intellectual property, and cyber laws.
- Capable legal researcher with strong drafting and analytical abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain discretion and act professionally in a legal setting.
