Role Overview

As a Legal Counsel focusing on commercial and contract law, you will provide expert advice and support across various legal matters within the company. This role involves collaborating closely with project teams and purchasing departments to draft, negotiate, and manage complex contracts while ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently handle legal queries and offer guidance to project teams and departments on all significant aspects of commercial law.
• Draft and negotiate complex contracts involving customers, suppliers, and cooperation partners.
• Analyze complex issues, identify potential risks, and develop practical recommendations for action.
• Work closely with project teams and procurement throughout all project phases—from contract initiation and negotiation to contract execution.
• Contribute to and implement international and group-wide legal matters.
• Conduct legal training sessions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Successfully completed first and second state law exams (Staatsexamen).
• 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in an industrial company or law firm with a focus on commercial law.
• Advanced qualifications such as a doctorate (Ph.D.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) are desirable.
• Equivalent qualifications will also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of German commercial and contract law, ideally within plant engineering or defense sectors.
• Basic familiarity with contracts governed by foreign legal systems, including working with external legal counsel abroad.
• Proven negotiation skills.
• Fluent English proficiency in speaking and writing; additional language skills are a plus.
• Excellent communication and eloquence.
• Team-oriented approach within the legal department and cross-functional project teams.
• Professional demeanor in both national and international contexts.
• Experience handling procedural and workflow topics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Precise, independent, and responsible work style.
