About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a partner company seeking an experienced Legal Counsel based in Germany. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support for international operations, focusing on commercial, corporate, regulatory, and compliance issues. The position involves navigating a regulated and fast-moving environment to advise internal teams on complex legal matters, mitigate risks, and support key strategic initiatives across multiple countries. This fully remote role allows flexible work arrangements and offers exposure to a broad range of cross-border legal challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, negotiate, and oversee diverse commercial contracts such as those involving suppliers, technology partners, service providers, marketing affiliates, partnerships, payment processors, and confidentiality agreements.
• Offer actionable legal counsel on commercial, corporate, contractual, and regulatory topics to teams throughout the company.
• Manage licensing processes and ensure regulatory compliance in different jurisdictions, including handling applications, renewals, and ongoing regulatory duties.
• Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes, evaluate potential business impacts, and suggest necessary compliance-related actions.
• Engage in corporate legal work like structuring, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and documentation for strategic projects.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Finance departments on governance, anti-money laundering, risk control, and various regulatory matters.
• Support creation and review of internal policies, privacy notices, terms and conditions, and related legal documents.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors, regulators, and consultants, proactively identifying legal risks and delivering commercially viable legal solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a law degree from an EU jurisdiction.
• At least three years of professional legal experience in sectors such as iGaming, online gambling, fintech, cryptocurrency, or other highly regulated industries.
• Proven skills in drafting, analyzing, and negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements.
• Sound knowledge of corporate law, commercial law, contract law, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience supporting multinational operations and varied corporate structures.
• Fluent English communication abilities, both written and spoken.
• Independent work capability combined with practical, business-focused legal advice delivery.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex tasks concurrently.
• A collaborative and proactive approach with a focus on solutions in a dynamic setting.
• Additional experience in iGaming licensing, gaming operations, cryptocurrency/digital assets, data privacy, mergers & acquisitions, or cross-border transactions is advantageous.
