Role Summary

The Chief Legal Officer position is a full-time, remote role responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance activities within the firm. This role leads the legal strategy, offers guidance on complex legal matters, and ensures compliance with laws and regulations applicable to tax advisory and wealth management. Daily tasks include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements; advising senior management on corporate governance; and managing policies to uphold ethical and compliant business conduct. The Chief Legal Officer will handle labor and employment law issues, collaborate with external attorneys as necessary, and develop frameworks to reduce legal risks. This role works in close partnership with executive leadership to align legal concerns with business goals, safeguarding the firm's reputation and interests.

Qualifications

  • Solid grounding in law with the capability to interpret and implement relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Experience addressing legal matters and providing clear, actionable advice to senior leaders.
  • Background in corporate governance, including policy formulation and board-level reporting.
  • Knowledge of labor and employment law encompassing workforce policies, compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar membership in good standing.
  • Several years of increasing legal leadership experience, preferably in financial services, tax advisory, or a similarly regulated sector.
  • Proven ability to work remotely, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills emphasizing practical, business-focused solutions.
