Overview
This role is predominantly remote with occasional visits to the firm's offices in London or Colchester about once a month for meetings, training, and business needs. You will join an experienced cashiering team of eight, playing a crucial part in managing the firm’s cashier functions accurately while ensuring compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and supporting broader finance operations.

Primary Duties
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines of the cashiering team
- Assist with CHAPS and BACS payments related to office accounts
- Process supplier invoices for approval and payment using financial systems
- Add purchase order numbers to client billing records
- Provide assistance to the Cashier Supervisor with accounting inquiries, reporting, and other requests
- Cover for other team members during leave or higher workloads
- Participate in finance projects and operational enhancements as needed
- Use the firm’s accounting software to boost cashiering efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain precise financial documentation ensuring adherence to regulations
Candidate Profile
- At least five years’ experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm environment
- Comprehensive understanding of the SRA Accounts Rules
- Advanced Excel proficiency and strong skills in Microsoft Office tools
- Familiarity with legal accounting platforms, ideally Partner for Windows
- Highly organized with excellent ability to manage time and prioritize
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Effective communicator comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working autonomously
- Team-oriented with flexibility and a positive outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT certification or higher qualification
- Experience supporting a Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA) and managing banking relationships
- Knowledge of other legal finance systems
