Legal Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a Legal Assistant with expertise in intellectual property law to join our team at Tata Consultancy Services in Delhi. This role requires a professional with 3 to 8 years of experience, capable of handling a variety of legal tasks related to patents, contracts, and data privacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out extensive prior art search analysis using both paid and free databases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate intellectual property risks and opportunities linked with products and technologies.
• Perform Freedom to Operate (FTO) assessments for various products and platforms.
• Prepare responses to First Examination Reports issued during patent prosecution.
• Develop an initial understanding of inventions and work with inventors to draft Information Disclosure Forms.
• Review and draft legal documents including agreements, contracts, and other relevant paperwork.
• Examine documents related to data privacy to ensure compliance.
• Review Gen AI use cases for legal implications and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum three years of professional experience in the legal domain, especially intellectual property law.
• Strong knowledge of patent drafting, prosecution, and intellectual property management.
• Experienced in contract management and legal drafting.
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations and related documentation.
• Ability to conduct thorough prior art searches and freedom to operate analyses.
• Experience with emerging technologies such as Generative AI from a legal perspective is advantageous.
