Role Overview
We seek a motivated Legal Assistant / Paralegal to be an integral part of our Legal team. This position involves corporate governance support, managing legal operations and documents, and improving internal procedure efficiency. Working across multiple business lines including Investment Banking, the role focuses on bolstering Capital Markets legal and compliance processes, facilitating smooth workflows, and contributing to process automation related to deal tracking and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage new deal memos for Performance Trust engagements in collaboration with Business and Finance departments.
- Assist Legal and Business teams in compiling necessary documentation such as financials and deal memos for submission to internal committees.
- Maintain and update the Capital Markets deal pipeline using Asana, ensuring comprehensive and current data for all stakeholders.
- Leverage Asana to automate workflows, tracking routine tasks and deal progression steps.
- Coordinate with Compliance to gather required deal information and support due diligence on securitization transactions.
- Work closely with junior bankers and team members to ensure all approvals and control needs are recorded properly within the PT Control Room system, including data entry responsibilities.
- Collaborate with Technology and Compliance teams to optimize legal data integration between systems and enhance workflow efficiency.
- Contribute to the advancement of scalable legal processes, ensuring data accessibility and effective system integration.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years’ experience as a legal assistant or paralegal within corporate or in-house law departments; capital markets or financial services exposure preferable but not mandatory.
- Highly organized, responsible, proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic workplace.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities along with excellent writing and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to juggle various deals and tasks simultaneously.
- Experienced collaborating across legal, banking, compliance teams, and external counsel to support deal execution.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel for training, company events, and other business-related purposes as required.
- Must be authorized for permanent employment in the United States without sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual base salary between $85,000 and $100,000, subject to factors like skills, experience, education, location, and market conditions.
