Role overview
The University of Wollongong is seeking an academic in Educational Leadership to join the School of Education within the Faculty of Arts, Society and Business. This appointment supports teaching, research, and program development aimed at preparing the next generation of school and system leaders. Depending on qualifications and experience, the role may be appointed at Lecturer (Level B), Senior Lecturer (Level C), or Associate Professor (Level D).
What you will do
You will create engaging learning experiences, help shape curriculum and course development, supervise postgraduate and HDR candidates, and contribute meaningful research in Educational Leadership. At the senior levels, the position also includes academic leadership and support for the expansion of Educational Leadership offerings across campuses.
Teaching, research and service
- Plan and deliver strong teaching in Educational Leadership.
- Support curriculum renewal and program enhancement.
- Build and maintain research activity relevant to Educational Leadership.
- Supervise postgraduate and higher degree research students.
- Take part in governance, service, and professional engagement activities.
Work arrangement and location
This is a permanent continuing, full-time position based at the Wollongong Campus, with occasional travel to the Liverpool Campus. Regular on-campus presence is required to support face-to-face teaching, student engagement, and involvement in the School community.

Educational Leadership is a major strength of the School, including programs such as the Master of Education (Educational Leadership), which supports future-focused leadership in Australian education.
What you need to bring
- A doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely related discipline.
- Proven expertise in Educational Leadership within the Australian education system.
- Evidence of effective teaching and innovation in curriculum design.
- A research profile appropriate to level: developing for Level B, established for Level C, or nationally recognised for Level D.
- Demonstrated leadership through governance, service, or professional contribution, with expectations increasing by level.
