Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Behaviour Analysis

About the role

The University of Waikato is hiring a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Behaviour Analysis to support teaching, postgraduate supervision, and academic administration within the School. The role also involves developing and sustaining scholarship and research in the discipline, along with contributing to professional, community, and iwi engagement relevant to the field.

At Lecturer to Professor level, advancement is reflected through stronger teaching performance, wider research leadership and impact, and increasing involvement in academic governance. The role is designed for someone who can help grow the discipline through recognised scholarship, support student achievement, and provide leadership in the university and broader academic environment.

This is a full-time position of 37.5 hours per week based at the Tauranga Campus.

Salary

For a Lecturer, the annual salary range is NZD 92,603 to NZD 110,407. For a Senior Lecturer, the annual salary range is NZD 113,248 to NZD 148,799. Pay will depend on the experience, knowledge, and capability the successful applicant brings to the position.

Who they are looking for

The ideal candidate will either hold a PhD in psychology or a closely related field, or be close to completing one, with solid grounding and training in behaviour analysis. For the Senior Lecturer level, candidates should already have a strong research record, including publications, success in attracting external funding, and supervision of high-quality research students.

You should be an engaging, adaptable educator who demonstrates strong undergraduate teaching ability and effective postgraduate supervision. A commitment to creative teaching methods, including remote delivery, is also important.

You will need to be organised, cooperative, and comfortable working across a varied academic community, while contributing to both internal administration and wider community engagement.

Te Wānanga o Ngā Kete, the Division of Arts, Law, Psychology and Social Sciences (ALPSS), is a large and active division made up of the School of Arts, the School of Psychological and Social Sciences, and the School of Law, Politics, and Philosophy.
