Role Summary: Learning & Development Specialist
Four Seasons Resort Hualālai seeks a dedicated Learning & Development Specialist passionate about nurturing employee growth, cultivating a culture of ongoing learning, and bringing the Four Seasons service culture alive through impactful training programs. This role is crucial in enhancing employee engagement by supporting onboarding, leadership development, service standards, and learning initiatives that empower staff success.
Working within the People & Culture team, the specialist collaborates with resort leaders to develop talent, boost engagement, and uphold exemplary service standards aligned with Four Seasons’ values.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Embark onboarding program to welcome new hires, introducing them to the Four Seasons culture, core values, and service excellence standards.
- Partner with the Learning & Development Manager to organize and conduct essential training sessions.
- Manage learning documentation, track training progress, and generate reports via the Four Seasons Learning Platform ensuring compliance and professional growth.
- Collaborate with operational leadership to support Routines of Service Excellence and embed the Four Seasons service ethos throughout the employee journey.
- Coordinate and monitor mandatory annual training programs including Ethics, Safety, and OSHA compliance.
- Support the Certified Departmental Trainer initiative through certification training, coaching, observations, and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Work with guest-facing department leaders to create and facilitate engaging learning sessions aimed at enhancing service and operational performance.
- Contribute to projects aimed at improving guest satisfaction and quality measures such as Qualtrics surveys, LQA, Forbes Travel Guide assessments, and other performance metrics.
- Participate in People & Culture activities encompassing employee engagement efforts, recognition programs, and resort-wide celebrations.
- Handle administrative tasks including preparation of training materials, communication generation, record management, inquiry responses, and support day-to-day operations in alignment with Four Seasons standards.
- Seek ongoing opportunities to enrich the employee experience and foster a welcoming and inspiring workplace culture.
Candidate Requirements
- Authorization to work legally within the United States.
- At least one year of relevant experience in Learning & Development, Training, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Background in hotel operations, preferably within luxury hospitality or related service sectors.
- Familiarity with Forbes Service Standards is advantageous.
- Knowledge of the AAA Diamond Program is preferred.
- Competence in reading and working with computer systems, typing at 60 words per minute.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and 10-key data entry by touch.
