Opportunity Details
As a hands-on leader within our Wellington maintenance team, you will manage a small crew in completing diverse maintenance and repair assignments across the transport network. Tasks include repairing handrails, barriers, retaining walls, concreting, patching potholes, and performing general civil maintenance. Collaborating closely with the Supervisor, you will plan daily work schedules, coordinate materials and equipment, mentor your team, and ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Leading Hand, Foreperson, or similar leadership position;
- Solid background in civil construction, road maintenance, or infrastructure sectors;
- Class 2 driver's licence is preferred;
- Practical knowledge in concreting, pavement repairs, and general civil maintenance;
- Construction, building, carpentry, or handyman skills are highly valued;
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team while ensuring productivity and quality;
- Strong dedication to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards;
- Effective communication and planning capabilities;
- A proactive and practical approach to daily tasks.
