Job description
Position Overview
The Leadership Training Manager (LTM) is responsible for fostering a dynamic experiential learning environment that empowers leaders to develop key knowledge, skills, and abilities aligned with The Home Depot's core values. The LTM facilitates learning events and training sessions that allow leaders to practice new concepts through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and leadership insights to achieve developmental and organizational goals. This role is based in the San Fernando Valley area.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver instructor-led leadership and business training to Home Depot leaders through engaging in-person and virtual sessions across diverse platforms, dedicating approximately 60% of time to these activities.
- Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling, preparing and inspecting training environments, reviewing content, creating agendas, tracking attendance, and liaising with business partners to ensure smooth execution of training events (around 20% of time).
- Collaborate with Learning Design & Development teams, Learning Strategy groups, peer teams, and subject matter experts to maintain and enhance training materials and courses (constituting 10% of time).
- Lead or participate in special projects supporting evolving business and learning strategies, accounting for about 10% of duties.
Reporting & Travel
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Learning Delivery and does not have direct managerial responsibilities. The role requires approximately 30% overnight travel.
Physical & Work Environment
- Frequently standing or sitting for extended periods with opportunities to move; occasional stooping or lifting light items.
- Event locations may include classrooms, stores, or other company facilities, involving bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, or pulling merchandise or tools as needed.
- Indoor work environment with potential exposure to mild discomforts like dust, fumes, temperature fluctuations, noise, drafts, or bright lighting. Uneven flooring surfaces may also be encountered.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the United States and must be at least eighteen years old.
- Preferred candidates have retail operations and leadership experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to effectively present information to various organizational audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills; team-focused, results-oriented with a sense of urgency; effective time management.
- Quick learner with ability to adopt new information and processes efficiently.

- Knowledge of Adult Learning Principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Copilot, Teams, Forms, OneNote) and familiarity with technology platforms such as computers, tablets, and mobile devices.
- At least three years experience in related fields such as Training and Development, Leadership and Organizational Development, or Human Resources is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum education is high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of five years work experience required.
