Job description
Position Overview
The role of a Cashier is essential in delivering excellent customer service by providing prompt, courteous, precise, and secure assistance to shoppers. This includes conducting purchase and return transactions and supervising the Self-Checkout zones.
Key Duties
- Conduct checkout and return transactions effectively and efficiently.
- Manage and oversee the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operations.
- Continuously acquire product and project knowledge to better inform customers and uncover sales possibilities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures to minimize inventory loss.
Additional Responsibilities for Head Cashier
- Coordinate Cashier staff assignments and provide assistance by facilitating price verifications.
- Authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across various registers including mainline, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the initial point of escalation for resolving customer issues.
- Support the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates by contributing to training new Cashiers and employing available resources for their development.
Qualifications
A preferred qualification for the Head Cashier position is having over one year of experience working as a Cashier.
