About the Role

The Lead Planner takes charge of all planning, scheduling, and project control operations for EPC projects focused on Oil & Gas pipelines. This role ensures the creation, execution, and upkeep of comprehensive project schedules encompassing engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and manage the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for EPC pipeline projects utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Lead scheduling for engineering works, procurement tasks, right-of-way (ROW) management, construction teams, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Formulate planning approaches, establish construction sequences, define productivity assumptions, and develop schedule logic to facilitate smooth project delivery.
  • Track project advancement, critical path activities, productivity levels, and schedule adherence, while identifying risks and proposing mitigation or recovery strategies.
  • Validate project progress reports, baseline modifications, schedule updates, and forecasting to maintain schedule integrity and contract compliance.
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports including schedule performance metrics, S-curves, manpower resource histograms, forecasts, and recovery plans for presentation.
  • Evaluate impacts on schedules resulting from variations, delays, productivity drops, and change events, aiding in Extensions of Time (EOT) and claims as necessary.
  • Collaborate with departments including Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, HSE, Cost Control, and subcontractors to ensure an integrated scheduling framework.
  • Conduct planning meetings and assess subcontractor schedules to verify alignment with project goals.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Planning Engineers to deliver high-quality planning outputs consistent with company protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
  • Preferred certifications: PMP, PMI-SP, AACE PSP or equivalent professional credentials.
  • At least 10 to 12 years of planning and scheduling experience in EPC projects, with minimum 5 years dedicated to Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
  • Extensive proficiency in Primavera P6 for creating integrated schedules, managing baselines, tracking progress, forecasting, and conducting critical path analysis.
  • Strong expertise in linear construction scheduling including ROW coordination, construction spread management, tie-ins, hydrotesting, and commissioning processes.
  • Experience with project controls practices such as schedule risk assessment, progress measurement, recovery planning, change order management, and delay analysis.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for project reporting, performance evaluation, and building management dashboards.
