Job description
Role overview
This position is for a financial planning lead at the Mundra plant within the copper business. The role focuses on steering planning, performance tracking, reporting, controls, and business support for the plant and related operations.
Key responsibilities
- Own the annual operating plan and manage budgeting along with monthly and quarterly forecasts for the plant and business.
- Track actual performance against budget and forecast, identify gaps, and turn the analysis into clear recommendations for management.
- Build and present MIS reports, financial dashboards, and periodic business performance reviews for leadership.
- Carry out regular financial and operational reviews to find opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Close books on time and ensure financial statements such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow are prepared accurately.
- Maintain strong internal controls, SOPs, and financial governance practices.
- Ensure adherence to Ind AS, applicable accounting standards, and internal corporate policies.
- Review cost of production, plant efficiency, and other important operational indicators.
- Work with business teams on pricing, cost management, and profitability improvement decisions.
- Support strategic planning through financial models and scenario-based analysis.
- Improve working capital performance by managing inventory, receivables, and payables.
- Track cash flow and fund usage at the plant and business level.
- Submit financial reports on time and assist with audits and compliance-related activities.
Candidate profile
The role calls for a finance professional with strong experience in planning, forecasting, reporting, and business finance. A CA qualification is preferred, while ICWA/CMA is also acceptable.
Experience required
At least 10 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, with solid exposure to budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, business finance, and financial reporting.
