Role overview
This position leads food and beverage operations for a high-volume manufacturing environment in Dholera, Gujarat. The role focuses on running multi-cuisine canteen operations efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational standards, while ensuring high service quality, cost discipline, and employee satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee large-scale food and beverage operations at a manufacturing site, making sure service quality, productivity, and delivery timelines are consistently met.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day operations of a multi-cuisine canteen, including record maintenance, food preparation, cooking, and timely serving.
- Build and enforce food safety processes so that proper handling, cleanliness, and hygiene practices are followed.
- Ensure canteen operations reflect the organization’s values and standards.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes, introduce better practices, and support growth and innovation.
- Track customer satisfaction, raise service performance, and create improvement plans to strengthen employee experience.
- Manage complaints and guide service recovery actions when issues arise.
- Lead the canteen committee and run periodic review meetings.
- Design menus and ensure strict adherence to approved menu plans without unauthorized changes.
- Supervise and develop canteen staff through training, leadership, and performance management, while ensuring efficient stock usage, reduced wastage, good conduct, and hygiene compliance.
- Coordinate with the partner/vendor to close operational issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor inventory, workforce deployment, and operational readiness to support business continuity and ramp-up plans.
- Oversee pest control activities to keep the kitchen, storage areas, and employee meals hygienic and pest-free.
- Implement measures to reduce food wastage and lead wastage-control drives.
- Work with EHS, projects, and utilities teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders and operating departments for seamless planning and delivery.
- Promote a strong food safety and workplace safety culture across food operation blocks.
- Ensure health, safety, and welfare standards are maintained for users and staff, including canteen hazard risk assessments as required by rules.
- Work with food vendors to ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements.
- Maintain adherence to ISO standards, FSSAI guidelines, and other applicable quality and safety certifications, and coordinate with government and food safety bodies such as FSO, local panchayat, and municipal authorities.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations while putting the safety of users and staff first.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Carry out team performance reviews.
- Review invoices and financial records, and prepare MIS reports.
- Track daily meal sales, consumption patterns, and operational efficiency.
- Understand P&L statements well and use that insight to take effective action, control costs, and stay within budget.
Essential attributes
- Strong knowledge of food varieties, canteen operations, customer service, and industry developments.
- Familiarity with nutrition, applied science, organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced working environment.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills for dealing with guests and staff.
- Ability to manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost control within food and beverage operations.
- Customer-first mindset with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
Qualifications and experience
- A degree in hospitality management, food technology, nutrition, or a related discipline is required.
- Overall experience of 10 to 13 years, including at least 3 years in a managerial role within a large manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety requirements such as HACCP, FSSAI, and OSHA.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have set up or run large industrial kitchens or catering operations.
- Experience in food and beverage operations with large hotels and business environments is also relevant.
- Event management experience handling 3,000 to 5,000 headcount is desirable.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Dholera, Gujarat, India.
